Dr. Renee J Dufault, Executive Director

Dr. Dufault is the founding director of the Food Ingredient and Health Research Institute (FIHRI). After investigating the levels of mercury in high fructose corn syrup at the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), she spearheaded the publication of findings through collaboration with other researchers after her early retiremen

Dr. Dufault is the founding director of the Food Ingredient and Health Research Institute (FIHRI). After investigating the levels of mercury in high fructose corn syrup at the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA), she spearheaded the publication of findings through collaboration with other researchers after her early retirement from the FDA at the end of 2007. IN 2010, she founded FIHRI with collaborators while working as a special education teacher in Hawai'i. She is now known worldwide as a pioneer in the field of nutritional epigenetics, which is the study of how dietary factors, such as contaminants in food, impact gene behaviors  across generations. She is interested in preventing and mitigating symptoms of autism and ADHD via dietary changes.

Dr. Yolanda Whyte, MD, is a pediatrician who has expanded her practice to include virtual environmental health and special needs consultations. She empowers parents and families to reduce toxic exposures, strengthen immunity and improve daily functioning by optimizing nutrition and adopting eco-healthy lifestyles and other interventions through coaching, consultation and public speaking. Through expert medical testimony and briefings, she advocates to strengthen public health and human rights protections. She has held leadership roles in several state and national organizations, including EPA's Children's Health Protection Advisory Committee and the National Medical Association. A North Dakota native, Leah Woodke has been in the field of education for over 20 years. While teaching at the United Tribes Technical College (UTTC), she earned her PhD in Education with a focus on Instructional Design for Online Learning. During the same time, she led the self-study process required for the college to offer degree programs online. As a results, UTTC became the first tribal college to have accreditation approval to offer degree programs online. Dr. Woodke now serves as Director of Institutional Research at UTTC in Bismarck, ND.

Raquel Crider has a PhD. in Experimental Psychology with an emphasis on epidemiology and mathematical models. Dr. Crider worked as a mathematician during the space program at the University of Arizona Optics Department. Following a decline in the space program funding, she became an epidemiologist at the National Institutes of Health (NIH

Dr. Crider worked as a mathematician during the space program at the University of Arizona Optics Department. Following a decline in the space program funding, she became an epidemiologist at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and other federal agencies. Just prior to her retirement from the United States Public Health Service, she became a Scientific Review Administrator organizing the review of government research grants. She serves as FIHRI's statistician for all studies involving data collection and evaluation.

After law school, Ms. Hitt received her MPH from the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health. After law school, Ms. Hitt received her MPH from the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Health. For many years, she worked at the Government Accountability Project (GAP) in Washington D.C. representing whistleblowers and spearheading the Food Integrity Campaign. She recently finished a fellowship at Harvard Law School and is currently working on a book about whistleblowers.

Skip Kingston, PhD., Chemist

H.M. (Skip) Kingston, PhD, is now serving as Scholar in Residence at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). He is building a major center of excellence in mass spectrometry and collaborating with major institutions worldwide. Dr. Kingston has been instrumental in developing analytical methods for determining concentrations of various mercury species in assorted media, including blood.

Dr. Berg was instrumen

Dr. Zara Berg first learned of FIHRI's mission and work while teaching science at Fort Peck Community College in Montana in 2011. At that time, Dr. Dufault asked her to collaborate on the proposed research project that involved the development and evaluation on the online healthy diet nutritional epigenetics course. Dr. Berg was instrumental in ensuring the IRB protocol was followed at the community level as participants in the clinical trial enrolled in the online nutrition course. She comes to FIHRI with terrific experience in community based  clinical research. With a master's degree in interdisciplinary toxicology from Texas A&M University and a doctorate degree in Clinical Research, she is well qualified to help with FIHRI's research projects.

Dr. Schnoll is a certified dietician nutritionist. She is currently director of the graduate dietetic internship program at Brooklyn College in New York City. Her areas of expertise include integrative and functional nutrition and the role of self-regulation on dietary behavior. She is the director of the Brooklyn College Nutrition Clinic

Janice Camp is a Pacific Northwest native, currently living in Seattle Washington. Now retired from the University of Washington School of Public Health, she has worked for decades in the fields of Occupational and Environmental Health. Ms Camp has master’s degrees in occupational health nursing and in Industrial Hygiene. While at the University of Washington she engaged in occupational health research, taught graduate and undergraduate courses in occupational and environmental health, and coordinated graduate internships. She also managed the Departmental Continuing Education group and a university-based consulting group supporting Washington State business and labor groups.  Janice has had a long interest in the impact of the environment on human health and how to better communicate those risks to the public.
